A memorial before God.
Acts 10:3-4, About the ninth hour of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who had just come in to him, and said to him, "Cornelius!" And fixing his gaze upon him and being much alarmed, he said, "What is it, Lord?" And he said to him, "Your prayers and alms have ascended as a memorial before God."
Prayers and alms are seen as a memorial before God, even before Cornelius had accepted Christ! One of my friends has been volunteering to help us feed the day workers who gather in hopes of finding work to feed their families. He has never been to one of our regular services, but something deep inside him called him to be in charge of getting our equipment out of storage and setup ready to cook at about 6:30 AM, Saturday mornings. It’s only a matter of time before Jesus becomes real to him!
Help us to keep the main thing the main thing, loving others just as they are, that they may come to know You when You are ready!
