And yet God has shown me.
Acts 10:28-29, And he said to them, "You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a man who is a Jew to associate with a foreigner or to visit him; and yet God has shown me that I should not call any man unholy or unclean. That is why I came without even raising any objection when I was sent for. And so I ask for what reason you have sent for me."
Peter was living as he thought God had commanded, viewing all but his own race as unclean and to be avoided. God is the ultimate iconoclast, and Peter listened to the call of the Holy Spirit not only to associate with Cornelius, but to embrace him as a brother in Christ. This divine appointment reminds us that God can redeem the unredeemable, and that He has these divine appointments for us as well if only we will seek Him and listen to His voice!
Open my ears to hear Your call for those divine appointments You have; help me to be faithful in what you call me to do in order to bring glory to Your name!
