Wretched man that I am!
Romans 7:24-25, Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin.
If this applies to Paul, it certainly applies to me. In our own flesh, we know that we cannot make it; the law is a constant reminder of that fact, which is why so many people in our culture want to do away with the law! It is only by His grace that I am set free from a bondage that I never asked for.
Thank You for setting us free from the law of sin and death; convict me by the power of Your Holy Spirit when I need to confess my sin.
