Consider yourselves to be dead to sin.
Romans 6:10-11, For the death that He died, He died to sin, once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
In being baptized, we are baptized into His death, “buried with Him.” And when we are raised up out of that water, we are raised to His new life, just as He was raised from the dead! We are no longer slaves to sin, separated from God; we are united with Him forever. While we still struggle, we have His assurance that He is with us, that He has covered our worst mistakes by His perfect sacrifice. What an amazing gift we have received in Christ Jesus!
We celebrate our new life in You today, Lord Jesus; turn our hearts to You at every moment, that we may stay in Your light.
