Our God is a consuming fire.
Hebrews 12:28-29, Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.
Our position with Him is secure because we have put all our hope and trust in Jesus Christ and the righteousness He has imputed to us through the cross. Are we truly grateful? Do we recognize the depths from which we have been rescued? Clearly, He does not need our service; He is making opportunities available so that we can see Him at work. Are we ready to be used by Him in His service today?
We are in awe of Your power and justice, Lord; we want to serve You, and to rejoice with thanksgiving at those opportunities for service that we are able to do!
