Edification of the church.
1 Corinthians 14:12, So also you, since you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek to abound for the edification of the church.
Paul was addressing a problem in that church, apparently people were seeking after spiritual fireworks? Of course that could never happen today! He wants us to use the gifts that He gives us for building others up, for bringing glory to His name. It’s good to be pressing hard to use the gifts He gives us when it’s for the right reason!
Help me to keep it all in Your purpose, to use the gifts You give me to build up others.
