By the Spirit.
Romans 8:12-24, So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh— for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Our natural state is under a death sentence, not by our own choice, but by our very nature. When we come to Christ He breathes life into us. By His grace we are saved through faith and that not of our own doing, but as a gift from God. We can’t do this on our own, and the good news is we don’t have to. He gives us His Spirit to lead us!
Come, Holy Spirit, lead us, guide us into the good works which You have prepared beforehand.
