Encouraging one another.
Hebrews 10:23-25, Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near.
Discouragement and cynicism abound in our world, from the nightly news to the comedy club. And unfortunately, I’ve heard this scripture used to beat people over the head to get them to come to every church service offered during the week! How much better it is to have other believers who are there to pray for you, to encourage you and to bring a song or a scripture to build others up. The day is indeed drawing near; why not look for a way to give a simple word of encouragement for someone else today?
Open our eyes to those whom we can encourage; give us Your insight as to what we should say.
