Do not be deceived.

1 Corinthians 15:33-24, Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

Again, we are reminded of Peter’s comment that Paul writes some things that are hard to understand. What is clear is that there are those who are opposed to the good news of Jesus Christ, and who are able to convince others that they are right. One day, all controversy will be ended, and the truth of scripture will prevail. We who are blessed with the gift of faith and knowledge of the scripture have work to do in this world!

Help us to be ready to speak the truth in love, in thought, word and deed; help us to pray without ceasing for those who do not know You, O Lord!
