The secrets of his heart are disclosed.

1 Corinthians 14:24-25, But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all; the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you.

Paul makes it clear that there is a purpose to everything we do. On the day of Pentecost, we see the purpose of speaking in tongues was that each one heard the good news in his own language. And the purpose of prophecy here is not some mystical forecasting, but to bring real conviction to an unbeliever who hears. Are we bold enough to desire the greater gifts that others may hear the truth and come to know Him?

We eagerly desire the greater gifts, to bring glory to Your name, that others may come to know You, O Lord.
