And Jesus said, "I am;"
Mark 14:61-62, But He kept silent, and made no answer. Again the high priest was questioning Him, and saying to Him, "Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?" And Jesus said, "I am; and you shall see THE SON OF MAN SITTING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF POWER, and COMING WITH THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN."
Those around Jesus were lying in order to make Him look bad. What He said again enraged those who heard Him; had He wanted to escape their wrath, He could have chosen to remain silent. Instead, He answers their question and the question of many today as to who He really is. He is indeed the Christ, the Son of God. And He is indeed seated in the heavenly realms even today, soon to come in the clouds. Recent events show us what a fragile world we live in, especially in all of our modern, urban sophistication. Are we ready to reach out in His love to help those who are in such desperate need, leaving all the consequences to Him?
We need Your wisdom and Your power to reach those who are hurting and lost without You. Open their eyes to see You, as we reach out with Your love, to bring glory to God.
