Witnesses of these things.

Luke 24:45-49, Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day; and that repentance for forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

While we were not eye witnesses to His being present with flesh and bone, eating a meal or touch His hands and His side, we can certainly benefit from what Jesus told His disciples. We can ask the Holy Spirit to open our minds to understand scripture, to enable us to speak the truth in love. We proclaim His wonderful name, as Lord and savior of all, as the “way, the truth and the life.” And we can wait upon His power to enable us to be His witnesses!

Open our eyes to all that You have done, all that You are going to do; clothe us with Your power from on High.
