This man has done nothing wrong.
Luke 23:39-41, And one of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, "Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!" But the other answered, and rebuking him said, "Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong."
The so-called wisdom of the world led many to challenge Jesus to demonstrate His power by saving Himself, and indeed He had the power to do so. Had He done so, it would have been at the cost everyone, for in God’s amazing wisdom He is our perfect sacrifice, taking away the sin of the world. Amazingly, one of the criminals could see His innocence and recognize Him as our only hope!
Lord Jesus, we thank You that even though You had no sin, You "became sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
