Great multitudes came to Him.

June 12, 2005, Great multitudes came to Him.

Matthew 15:30-31, And great multitudes came to Him, bringing with them those who were lame, crippled, blind, dumb, and many others, and they laid them down at His feet; and He healed them, so that the multitude marveled as they saw the dumb speaking, the crippled restored, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

It seems that the prevailing view of the religious authorities was that people who were dumb, crippled or lame had a problem with sin in their lives. Indeed, that is true, but the problem with sin is that it is our very nature. The love of God goes beyond our nature; otherwise we would be without hope. Are we looking to bring His love to those who come, with their own form of deafness and brokenness? Did the multitudes come to Him for judgment or healing?

Help us to see others with Your eyes, to love with Your love, to bring Your healing touch; may we lay aside our own tendency to be quicker to judge others than to love them.
