Other people.

Luke 18:9-11, And He also told this parable to certain ones who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-gatherer. The Pharisee stood and was praying thus to himself, 'God, I thank Thee that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax-gatherer.'"

How easy it is to fall into this trap of comparison with other people. The spirit of self-righteousness is alive and well in our age! His Holy Spirit brings to us the conviction of the tax-gatherer, for no one is good enough to stand alone in the presence of Almighty God. We give thanks for Jesus, in Him and Him alone are we able to stand.

We are humbled in Your presence, we thank You for the price You have paid for us Lord Jesus.
