The Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.
Acts 16:6-7, And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.
We don’t naturally think like this. Too often we think only of our “duty” to share the gospel and perhaps we miss the open door. For Paul and Silas, the open door would be in Macedonia, where they would meet Lydia. Scripture is clear: “The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul.” Are we really willing to listen as they did, to seek where the Lord is calling us?
Give us ears to hear Your call that You may receive all the glory, O Lord!
