The Lord is able to make him stand.
Romans 14:1-4, As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
We are easily impressed by ourselves and able to overlook or rationalize our own failings, holding others to a standard that presents no problems for ourselves. In fact we all are in constant need of the grace of God, “for things done and things left undone.” And left to our own devices we are all undone before a Holy, completely upright judge from whom nothing is hidden, all is laid bare. Who can possibly pass that examination? Only the one who has been saved by grace through faith to turn from his wicked ways to Jesus, to be cleansed by the power of His blood. He has redeemed us, so that He can present us spotless on that day.
We thank You for Your amazing grace and for the faith to receive Your forgiveness of sin; make us more like Jesus every day, O Lord!
