The armor of light.

Romans 13:10-12, Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.

There has been much publicity about the end of the world, and a false prophet who claims to know the exact date. When you test that claim against scripture, it’s easy to see that it fails, because even Jesus said that only the Father knows the exact day. Nevertheless, we are one day closer every day to the time when Jesus returns, and this is not because God is slow but because He is merciful. We have the opportunity to cast off works of darkness and put on His armor of light, to go forth under His protection and bring blessings, His good gifts to show the love of Christ in a world caught up in darkness. What does He want me to do today in His name?
