He brought him to Jesus.

John 1:40-42, One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means Christ). He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “So you are Simon the son of John? You shall be called Cephas” (which means Peter).

John knew that he was there to make the way straight for Jesus, the Lamb of God. He willingly pointed his own disciples, one being Andrew. And Andrew went to his own brother which is how Peter, came to know Jesus. We have to give thanks for all that Peter shows us in scripture with his enthusiasm and his need for Jesus to overcome his own limitations. Even thought Peter would come to the end of his own strength in denying the Lord three times, God was faithful to carry him through. How amazing that we have his Holy Spirit to help us in our own time of need with our own limitations. How amazing that the Lord later used this fisherman as the first preacher of the good news and one of those who would establish his church!

We need your guidance and strength to overcome our own failings that we might bring glory to your name!
