Little ones.
Mark 9:42, “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.”
This is meant to get our attention. Elsewhere, Matthew makes it clear that Jesus is talking about the little children that he has just discussed previously, whose “Angels always see the face” of his father in heaven. And so often our actions speak louder than our words, and little ones easily discern any hypocrisy. Jesus also said “Unless you change and become like little children, you will never entry the kingdom of heaven.” Is our faith informed, yet child-like? Are we taking our responsibility seriously when we are with little ones?
Thank you for mustard seed faith that moves mountains; give us the strength to be your witnesses in every situation especially with your little ones!
