Let your light shine!
Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
This is one of my favorite verses. We know that it is by grace we are saved, not of works, and yet there are works laid out for us to allow his light to shine forth in this dark world. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” What an exciting prospect, to look for the opportunity to bring glory to his name through those things that we do today!
Let your light shine through our good works to bring glory to your name, O Lord!
