“I have many in this city who are my people.”

Acts 18:9-11, And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.” And he stayed a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

Paul is a real inspiration, for he had his own career as a tentmaker and used that to support his ministry. Having come to the end of his rope with the Jewish community, he turned to the Gentiles and got this wonderful confirmation that the Lord had many in this city who were his people. We have the same opportunity today, and no doubt there are many in our own city who are his people. We don’t need to be distracted by those who are hostile towards the faith, we only need to find those whom the Lord is calling, those who hear his voice and seek him!

Use us in and out of our vocation to find those who are seeking you, to tell them your good news!
