The living bread.

John 6:51, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

He gives a dramatic image of who He is and what He has done for us. He gave His own flesh and shed His own blood on the cross that we might have life more abundantly. He came to “give His life as a ransom for many.” While the image of eating His flesh and drinking His blood is shocking, even more shocking is what He endured on the cross to ransom our lives! What we eat naturally becomes incorporated into our bodies, becomes part of us and sustains life. When we eat of His bread, He transforms us to live forever!

We give thanks for You as the bread of heaven; as we eat, transform us today!
