The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

John 1:14, And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

We can only join with the wise men from the east: “And going into the house they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him.” They opened their treasures and offered them to Him. Our own culture takes this to extremes in giving gifts; what do we offer to Him today?

We bring “sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.”

No Lectionary reading today.
