Eager for manifestations of the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 14:12, So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church.
Paul encourages us to eagerly desire the gifts of the Spirit for the purpose of building up the church. Some people want to have some supernatural experience, or to build themselves up, but He wants us to build each other up by His gifts. Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took water and washed the feet of His disciples, saying “You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.” Do we have the desire to server others as He did?
We eagerly desire Your good gifts that we may server others in building up Your church!
