A more excellent way.
1 Corinthians 12:31-13:1, But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
We are encouraged to desire the higher gifts to bring glory to His name. Our own pride can easily get in the way unless all that we do and say is done in His love. John wrote “By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.” Do we have His love present in all that we do and say?
Keep us focused on You and Your love as we humbly desire and receive Your gifts, Lord.
