Let a person examine himself.
1 Corinthians 11:28, Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
We are to examine ourselves as we come to the Lord’s supper, and take advantage of the conviction of the Holy Spirit. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”. Jesus said that if one comes to offer a gift at the altar and then remembers that his brother has something against him, to first be reconciled to his brother, and then to come offer the gift. Why not examine ourselves each day and so be ready to eat of the bread and drink of the cup at any time?
We thank You for saving us by grace, for giving Your life to set us free from the power of sin; help us to examine our lives in Your light.
