Earnest prayer.
Acts 12:5, So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.
Clearly, there were powerful forces of evil at work in the lives of these first faithful believers, just as there are today. Yet we must also recognize the amazing power that we have access to, the power of prayer! And it gives us great hope that this power is available not by some gift of great faith! Peter himself, when rescue from prison miraculously by an angel, thought at first he was having a vision. And those gathered to pray for him greeted the announcement of Peter’s arrival at the locked front door by saying “You are out of your mind” and “It must be his angel.” No matter what is happening or how powerful the force of evil may seem, God is in control and He is pleased to hear our prayers that move His amazing plans!
We thank You that You are in control and that You hear us when we pray!
