The will of God.

Romans 12:1-3, I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

One of my favorite teachers says that the trouble with living sacrifices is that we keep crawling off the altar! Our pastor was teaching on the sovereignty of God about every detail of our lives and realizing that he could not predict the working of faith even in his own children as they grow and mature. There are many situations like that in life where we think we know how things are supposed to work out and yet we don’t see it happening. Are we able to trust in God, that His plans are above our own limited plans and His ways are above our ways? While we long for a particular outcome, He is the one who has the future in His hands.

We put all of our trust in You that Your sovereign will be done on earth as it is in heaven! Thank You for the peace that passes understanding by our trust in You.
