Seek the things that are above.

Colossians 3:1-4, If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Paul goes on to urge us to “put to death what is earthly in you,” and we know that he wrestled with earthly issues as well. This is not just some kind of fanatical asceticism; it is a recognition and laying aside of those things that are between us and the things that are above. Even though we do not always do the things we want to do, we know that the Lord is there to help us in our time of need. Are we able to consider all that we do and say as bringing us closer to Him? Do we do our work as unto Him?

Give me Your wisdom in every situation and help me to seek things above today!
