With her flattering lips she seduces him.

Proverbs 7:21-23, With her many persuasions she entices him; with her flattering lips she seduces him. Suddenly he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as one in fetters to the discipline of a fool, until an arrow pierces through his liver; as a bird hastens to the snare, so he does not know that it will cost him his life.

This passage describes the seduction of a foolish young man, distracted by the flattery of a harlot. We know from scripture that is how God views idolatry, as spiritual adultery; placing anyone or anything before Him. His wisdom is for us to seek first His kingdom, and let Him take care of our temporal needs. Are we able to seek Him first in all that we do?

Help me to keep everything in perspective, and to seek You first in all that I do, O Lord.
