I was no longer speechless.
Ezekiel 33:21, Now it came about in the twelfth year of our exile, on the fifth of the tenth month, that the refugees from Jerusalem came to me, saying, “The city has been taken.” Now the hand of the Lord had been upon me in the evening, before the refugees came. And He opened my mouth at the time they came to me in the morning; so my mouth was opened, and I was no longer speechless.
The words that the prophet had for the people, about their failure to keep His commandments, and the coming desolation, were probably not well received. The idea of “intolerance” is popular in our own culture against those who believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and that His word is true: “No one comes to the Father but by me.” It’s only pride that lets us think that we need any other way than Him. Our pastor has been challenging us to live our daily lives with His purpose, ready for opportunities to tell others of His good news. Are we ready to have our mouths opened today?
Give us boldness to proclaim Your truth in love, that those whom You are calling may hear!
