Before His works of old.

Proverbs 8:22-25,34-36, “The LORD possessed me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old. From everlasting I was established, from the beginning, from the earliest times of the earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills I was brought forth; while He had not yet made the earth and the fields, nor the first dust of the world.” … “Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my doorposts. For he who finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the LORD. But he who sins against me injures himself; all those who hate me love death.”

We watched part of a Discovery series on the origins of the universe, this planet and of life. It’s interesting how much misplaced faith it takes to believe that somehow the earth came together as a random collection of space junk, then becoming the only planet of our Solar system at the proper distance from the sun having a magnetic field necessary to preserve our atmosphere from the incessant stripping, barrage of the solar wind! And then having the faith to believe that a random collection of elements somehow assembled themselves into a single living cell capable of reproduction. Now that’s faith! We are witnesses of the power of almighty God, creator and lover of His creation, with mankind fallen and now rescued by His Son. What amazing grace He shows us every day in the wisdom of this amazing universe and His provision for all eternity in His Son Jesus Christ.
