Wisdom is better than jewels.
Proverbs 8:10-14, “Take my instruction, and not silver, and knowledge rather than choicest gold. For wisdom is better than jewels; and all desirable things can not compare with her. I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way, and the perverted mouth, I hate. Counsel is mine and sound wisdom; I am understanding, power is mine.”
Silver, gold and jewels are obviously highly prized by the world’s system; God makes it clear that His wisdom is far more valuable. When we draw near to Him, He promises that He rewards those who truly seek Him. The reward may not be recognized by those of this world, but His reward is better than anything that this temporary world has to offer.
We seek Your incomparable wisdom for our lives today as we seek to draw nearer to You, O Lord.
