You shall be holy.

Leviticus 19:1-4, Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to all the congregation of the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy. Every one of you shall reverence his mother and his father, and you shall keep My sabbaths; I am the Lord your God. Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves molten gods; I am the Lord your God.’”

We see in the detail of this chapter the difficulty of living as holy as God. In fact it is intended to show us that we need Him to be able to do this. We need His transforming power for today, through His Holy Spirit. And we need His promise of forgiveness when we do make mistakes. We can go forth to love Him and love others, doing unto others as we would have them do unto us.

We celebrate the freedom we have in Christ Jesus; use us today, let Your life flow through us as the rivers of living water You promise!
