You shall be clean from all your sins before the Lord.

Leviticus 16:29-30, “And this shall be a permanent statute for you: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall humble your souls, and not do any work, whether the native, or the alien who sojourns among you; for it is on this day that atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you; you shall be clean from all your sins before the LORD.

The offering had to be done each year, over and over, and as we are told in Hebrews 10, the offering was but a shadow of that which was to come in the new covenant. This is the good news of Jesus Christ, that by His will we have been sanctified through the offerings of His body, “once for all.” “For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.” Through Him we have forgiveness; as our pastor said, we can’t bring our little sacrifices to God any more, for He is not accepting any further sacrifice to cleanse us from sin. “It is finished!”

We thank You that we are made perfect in Christ, and that You remember our sins no more!
