An everlasting possession.
Genesis 48:3-4, Then Jacob said to Joseph, “God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me, and He said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful and numerous, and I will make you a company of peoples, and will give this land to your descendants after you for an everlasting possession.’”
Jacob never forgot God’s promise, and reminds Joseph and his sons of His purpose. He makes sure that they know that God is forging His own people and that He has given them a land of promise as an everlasting possession. Do we take time to remember the amazing promises of God that we have?
Remind us each day of Your promises; thank You for Your mercies that are new every morning!
