I will make you a great nation there.
Genesis 46:2-5, And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night and said, “Jacob, Jacob.” And he said, “Here I am.” And He said, “I am God, the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you a great nation there. I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you up again; and Joseph will close your eyes.”
The Lord’s plans are revealed to Jacob and will unfold beyond his own lifetime, and even that of Joseph. He used the next four hundred years to incubate a nation that would return to claim the land promised to Abraham. We have to remember that when considering God’s timing; it as Peter says, a thousand years is as one day to the Lord. His amazing plans go even beyond the limits of time itself!
Your plans go far beyond our limited imagination and understanding, Lord; help us to wait expectantly!
