Whatever things were gain to me.
Philippians 3:7, But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
Paul writes elsewhere that he knew what it was like to be abased and to abound; to have nothing and to have everything. He had learned to be content either way; he recognized that the things of this world are nothing in comparison to Christ. Christ has made a way for us where there was no way. The things of this world are there, and seem to be more important than they really are. Can we keep it all in perspective recognizing that all creation is here to bring Him glory?
Show us how to live to bring glory to Your name with all that You have given us.
