Perfected for all time.
Hebrews 10:14-17, For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, “THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART, AND UPON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM,” He then says, “AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.” Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.
We are forgiven; perhaps the hardest thing for us to do is to forget. We have an enemy who likes to remind us, but we are secure because of His one perfect offering on the cross. His atonement for sin is all we will ever require, no matter what happens. When we come to Him asking forgiveness He promises to grant forgiveness and “remember no more.” Our pastor pointed out that we tend to think in terms of offering up some kind personal sacrifice; but He isn’t taking offering for sin any more!
We thank You for Your forgiveness in the one perfect offering Jesus has given us on the cross.
