To walk in the same manner as He walked.
1 John 2:3-6, And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.
Even Paul knew that in his mind he confirmed the word, but in his flesh he did not do the things he wanted to do. How much more I struggle with this, for I know that I don’t do the things I want to do. All I can do is to cling to His promises, that all my hope is in Him, the propitiation for my sins and also for the whole world. All I can do is to keep my eyes upon Jesus, drawing closer to Him knowing in faith He can perfect what I cannot. He calls us to come in childlike wonder to know Him better each day!
I know that on my own I cannot do this, help me O Lord Jesus, I need You!
