A dispute among them.

Luke 22:24-26, And there arose also a dispute among them as to which one of them was regarded to be greatest. And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who have authority over them are called ‘Benefactors.’ But not so with you, but let him who is the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as the servant.”

Even in the presence of Christ, a dispute arose about who was the greatest! I guess we shouldn’t be surprised if that still happens. Jesus has the solution, which is to be looking for ways to serve others. When I am tempted to lord it over someone, can I look instead for ways to serve?

I want to learn more of Your ways every day, O Lord; I need Your strength, for I can’t do it on my own.
