The root supports you.

Romans 11:17-18, But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you.

It’s amazing the ways we find to be arrogant, our whole culture seems to encourage it by rewarding us for advanced degrees, certifications and other promotions. What place has arrogance when we consider our on condition was dead, lifeless and without hope until He rescued us! Without Him, without the Vine, where would any of the branches be? As Paul says elsewhere in Romans 3:27, “Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.”

We boast in You alone Lord Jesus, for by grace You have saved us through faith, and that not of ourselves, it is Your gift!
