The just for the unjust.

1 Peter 3:18, For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

I had a difficult conversation with a friend, a new believer, who has the habit of running other people down, “talking trash.” I had prayed about this and gently asked him to change the subject when he started down that path again. He made the choice to take offense rather than listen, so it may be that I have now been placed on his trash talking list, along with some others whom I know love the Lord. We must count it all as Paul did, “filling up that which is lacking in Christ’s afflictions.”

Let us all be quick to listen and slow to speak especially of other believers!
