Nevertheless!

Psalm 106:44-46, Nevertheless He looked upon their distress, when He heard their cry; and He remembered His covenant for their sake, and relented according to the greatness of His lovingkindness. He also made them objects of compassion In the presence of all their captors.

We can take heart from this, for even when we are willfully disobedient, He still cares for us, He still loves us. It may be that we have indeed earned the trials that we must endure, for the "wages of sin is death." But we have this wonderful word, all throughout scripture, "Nevertheless!" He cares for us, He has made the way for us that we should walk in it.

We thank You that Your marvelous gift to us is "eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord," that Your compassion fails not, and that Your "mercies are new every morning!"
