Thy consolations delight my soul.
Psalm 94:19, When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Thy consolations delight my soul.
Isaiah tells us that He will keep us in perfect peace, "whose mind is stayed on Thee," because we trust in Him. Anxious thoughts can indeed multiply; we are encouraged to take every thought captive, to tear down those fortresses raised up against the knowledge of God. This is easier said than done, and impossible in our own strength; "not by power, nor by might, but by His Spirit."
We need You every hour, most Holy Lord; cleanse the thoughts of our hearts, and let us be anxious for nothing, bringing everything to You in prayer, receiving the peace that passes all understanding!
