The tradition of men.

Mark 7:8, "Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men."

We might not be doing this in exactly the same way as the Pharisees, who had a whole system of tradition to follow. It's somehow easier to follow tradition than to obey His commandments, even though we know that they are for our own good. It is wonderful that His commandments are not burdensome, but life giving, that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

We rest in Your security, open our eyes to the ways we can be obedient to Your commandments.
