But their heart was hardened.

Mark 6:51-52, And He got into the boat with them, and the wind stopped; and they were greatly astonished, for they had not gained any insight from the incident of the loaves, but their heart was hardened.

If this was a problem even for Jesus' disciples, we can certainly benefit from examining our own hearts. He has promised to change our hearts of stone into hearts of flesh. Are we ready to allow Him to change our hearts, that we might gain insight about Him in our reading of scripture and in the way He touches our daily lives?

Change our hearts, that we may gain insight about You every day, Lord Jesus.
