"John, whom I beheaded, has risen."

Mark 6:16, But when Herod heard of it, he kept saying, "John, whom I beheaded, has risen!"

How strange it is that Herod was ready to believe that John had risen from the dead, and yet could not believe that Jesus is who He says He is, and that He rose from the dead. And even after Jesus did indeed rise from the dead, Herod thought himself to be deity, to his own destruction. Indeed there are many today who are so ready to accept any kind of strange philosophy or theology and reject completely that Jesus is who He says He is, the Lamb of God, who has taken away the sin of the world!

We who have put all our trust in You give thanks that You have paid the debt we could not pay and taken away the sin of the world.
