Tax gatherers and sinners.
Mark 2:16-17, And when the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the sinners and tax-gatherers, they began saying to His disciples, "Why is He eating and drinking with tax-gatherers and sinners?" And hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Of course we know from scripture that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," that "all we like sheep have gone astray." That includes many self-righteous people who look down on those having more easily identifiable sin! Apart from faith in Him, we have nothing to save us, and nothing to boast about. We are to be "in the world, but not of the world," and He can use us to reach those He loves. Are we willing to let Him use us?
Use me in Your amazing plan to reach others, Lord.
